I haven’t actually done this, or even considered doing it. My boyfriend has diabetes and I don’t. We were just wondering what would happen to me if I did it.

Just curious. I don’t have diabetes on either side of my parents. I mostly believe people have a genetic propensity to this problem.

Also, if my partner has diabetes (in her family line), what will be the chances for our kids to have it?

My mom has had diabetes for 11 years and I don’t like seeing her having to take insulin everyday (I feel it hurts her to stick the needle in her skin even though she’s done it for so long) with all the work she does.

I heard diabetes is curable but I not sure. Do you guys know of any ways to increase the bodies insulin levels or potentially get rid of her diabetes?

I am very nervous to tell my mom that I want to get tested for diabetes on a regular basis because, the pediatrician that we see said that I can’t get diabetes as a child even though it runs in the family. I know that is not true. So how should I tell her and when is a good time to tell her. The other reason I am nervous is because she is a paramedic which means she takes care of people on the way to the hospital in an ambulance.
